Overhead Catenary Voltage Presence Detector

The 283/284 Voltage Presence Detector (VPD) is designed to provide a signal to detect live line conditions for control and annunciation. The resilient construction of the sensing unit is designed to handle the harsh conditions of outdoor mounting for Catenary or third rail systems. The VPD is the only accurate voltage monitoring assembly available that provides fiber optic coupling between the detector and receiver to prevent injury or equipment damage due to high voltage faults and transients.
