Becker Mining Systems Acquires SMC Electrical Products,
Inc.
Friedrichsthal, December 3, 2007 - The German-based international
mining supplier, Becker Mining Systems AG, announced the acquisition of
SMC Electrical Products, Inc. based in Huntington, West Virginia, USA as
of December 1, 2007.
SMC is a leading U.S. manufacturer of electrical equipment,
medium voltage drives and components for the mining industry. With 150
employees, SMC
provides custom solutions and application support for automation, control,
power distribution, motor control equipment and is the industry standard
for mine duty electrical components.
Becker Mining Systems is one of the
world’s leading mining suppliers with
more than 1,100 employees and annual turnover of 156 million Euros (2006).
Becker Mining Systems focuses on productivity and safety in mining as well
as developing
